The
Gulf Shores - Orange Beach, Alabama vacation area is
quickly recovering from the affects of Hurricane Ivan.
All of the golf courses and most of the attractions,
restaurants and businesses are open. However, only a
little over 50% of lodgings are available now, with
90% projected to be open by June. Parts of the Gulf
State Park remain closed; the Gulf lodge and the fishing
pier, which was destroyed, most of the campground will
be open by Memorial Day. The beach renourishment project
will work westward from Perdido Key with expected completion
